Liverpool fans have been sent into a frenzy after the latest Instagram activity of Linda Pizzuti, wife of the club’s owner, sparked debate that Trent Alexander-Arnold could do a U-turn and remain at Anfield beyond this summer.

Liverpool fans have been given a few weeks of good news recently.

First, Mohamed Salah extended his contract at Liverpool by two years, followed by the announcement of Virgil van Dijk’s two-year contract at the club.  The climax came on Sunday when they beat Tottenham Hotspur to win the Premier.

However, there is one news fans are hoping will top off what has been a good season for everyone associated with the club–Alexander-Arnold’s new contract.

The 26-year-old Liverpool vice-captain has been in contract discussions with the club for a long time now, but there appears to be no headway with just days left before his current deal expires.

Rather, it is being reported that he has agreed to a move to Real Madrid.

The Spanish La Liga side is said to have been encouraged to bid by the defender, and his move to the Bernabeu is now a matter of when, not if.

However, while journalists continue to maintain that Alexander-Arnold is Madrid-bound, there appears to be little evidence that the 26-year-old has not decided on his future yet.

There is reason for optimism among fans that even though he has decided to leave, there is a chance he rethinks his decision and remains at his boyhood club.

This hope among fans was sent to fever pitch on Sunday when his teammate Cody Gakpo suggested he hoped “Alexander-Arnold will join the duo of Salah and Van Dijk in renewing his contract.

There was even more cause for optimism when it was revealed by a forensic lip reader that Liverpool’s majority shareholder, John Henry, and Alexander-Arnold had a brief discussion about the defender’s future during the title celebration at Anfield on Sunday.

Another layer of intrigue has now been added to the speculation, and this time it involves the post of John Henry’s wife, Linda Pizzuti.

After the game, Mrs Henry took to Instagram to share her experience of being at Anfield to celebrate with the players and fans after the title was won.

She posted several pictures of the evening with the caption, “Pitch celebration on winning the Premier League with supporters, at Anfield.

After more than 14 years with the club, this was truly a dream come true.”

Her post attracted several reactions and comments from fans?

But one of the pictures she uploaded was that of Alexander-Arnold having a conversation with John Henry, and unsurprisingly, the picture attracted the most attention.

Under the picture, a fan wrote ” Just throwing in that Trent photo ?,” to which Pizzuti responded with an “eye” emoji as if to say she is also observing the situation.

Her reaction to the inquiry by the fan has sent fans into overdrive, as many believe that she has insider information, and there is a chance that Alexander-Arnold could yet stay at Liverpool.

Whether that become true or not, we will find out in the next few weeks.
